Industry-leading companies are using ILOG Views to build applications that feature intuitive, efficient displays and interfaces.

Siemens AG   Siements logo

Siemens AG is a world leader in electronics and electrical engineering, with a heritage extending over 150 years. Today the firm operates in over 190 countries and competes in a variety of markets, including information and communications; automation and control; power; transportation; medical; and lighting. Siemens used ILOG Views to add real-time management to a switching system.

Real-time management for a switching system
Siemens AG's EWSD is the most widely used switching system in the world. ComUX, the central monitoring system for managing EWSD, allows operators and administrators to respond immediately to events like alarms and congested lines. When Siemens Brazil recently updated ComUX, it decided to add a real-time multiuser interface, improving the operator's ability to interact with EWSD. Siemens selected ILOG Server and ILOG Views to develop the new system, greatly improving operator speed and accuracy.

"The ILOG components let us upgrade ComUX into an unmatched management system. Boosted with ILOG Server and ILOG Views, it gives our customers a real WYSIWYG solution that delivers 100% control of the entire switching system."

Yang Michael Ruu Long
R&D Public Switching Manager
Siemens Brazil

COMSAT RSI   Logo

COMSAT RSI (a unit of Comsat Corp.) supports satellite and terrestrial communications worldwide with a range of systems, subsystems, and components. The company designs, manufactures, and installs systems for satellite and terrestrial communications, navigation, and specialized applications. COMSAT RSI used ILOG Views to develop an application for satellite network management.

Satellite network management
COMSAT RSI's satellite network management application, TerraSat, enlarges bandwidths for intermittent large-volume transmissions. The company used ILOG Views to build a user interface that handles thousands of graphic objects representing resources connected to TerreSat.

"We evaluated numerous products for GUI development, but none had the features and portability of ILOG Views. Built-in features such as the Grapher and the spreadsheet would have been prohibitive to build with any other product."

Jerry Pinson
Director of Telephony and Data Products
COMSAT RSI

LG Information & Communications Ltd.   LG logo

LG Information & Communications Ltd. is South Korea's leading telecommunications company. LGIC used ILOG Views to develop a network management system.

Network management system
LG Information & Communications Ltd.'s Integrated Network Management System allows engineers to determine node status at a glance, rapidly reacting to problems. Built using ILOG Views, the system gives engineers the exact details needed to perform tasks like bypassing and repairing sites, or resetting transmitters. ILOG technology helped LGIC reduce response times and improve transmission coverage, improving its competitiveness in the growing South Korean market.

"We need a way to see and control everything. ILOG Views gave us the tools to create a GUI on a national scale. Every element in our network is now visible and accessible through the dynamic features of ILOG technology."

Kyoung-Jin Kang
Senior Research Engineer of NMS Technology Department
LG Information & Communications Ltd.

CS Telecom   CS Telecom

CS Telecom leads the European market for access switches and concentration systems, including X25, frame relays, and ATMs. The company has built over 500 enterprisewide area networks, and presently provides access and edge systems to more than 50 operators and network service providers worldwide. CS Telecom used ILOG Views to develop a network management application for high-speed data switching.

Network management of high-speed data switching
CS Telecom's SafeView management solution keeps operators in full control of telecom networks employing its SafeCom multiprotocol, multiservice switches. Developed by the telecom software integrator SINFOR, SafeView's powerful user interface was built using ILOG Views. The interface provides a realistic view of switches, as well as diagnostic information.

"One of the great things about SafeView is that it gives a real-life representation of equipment panels. It's as if you're actually looking at the equipment, and I don't think it would have been possible without ILOG Views'powerful graphics."

Marie-Laure Maurin
Network Management Program Manager
CS Telecom

POSCO   Posco logo

POSCO is one of the largest steel companies in the world, with 28 million tons of capacity and Korea's only integrated blast furnace mill. POSCO used ILOG Views and the ILOG Optimization Suite to create an application for optimizing steel production to better meet customer demand.

Optimizing steel production
POSCO's optimization system helps it maintain full production and maximum profitability. Based on ILOG Views and the ILOG Optimization Suite, the system allows POSCO to match production to demand, cutting its hot coil rolling ratio by 10%.

"The ILOG based application is directly responsible for a considerable reduction in our stock."

Jin-Gwon Che
Production Systems Manager
POSCO

Aeroports de Paris   Aeroports de Paris logo

Aeroports de Paris is the management and planning authority for air transportation in greater Paris, operating a network of 14 airports and aerodromes. ADP used ILOG Views to develop an application called SAIGA that manages resources and helps reduce congestion at the Orly and Charles de Gaulle international airports.

Reducing airport congestion
Aroports de Paris' SAIGA application manages resources at the Orly and Charles de Gaulle international airports. ILOG Solver and its C++ optimization engine generate optimal solutions, which can be further refined through an ILOG Views-based interface. Employing a distributed architecture based on ILOG Server and ILOG Rules, the system allows users to monitor execution and react to events in real time. Since October 1997, SAIGA's intuitive, user-friendly application environment has reduced planning time and increased efficiency at both airports.

"Our application is extremely powerful, and its intuitive interface helps users make decisions more accurately and in real time. Moreover, code reuse makes it very maintainable. We couldn't have achieved such efficiency without ILOG."
