Many optimization models need to balance multiple, often conflicting goals. In the real world, businesses want to improve customer service, increase revenue, reduce costs, keep employees happy and increase profitability—all at the same time. ILOG ODM lets you balance these goals, using relative weights or by assigning minimums or maximums for any individual goal. The result is a full exploration of the trade-offs and the realistic options available.

What-if analysis
Change any model input, from the number or type of customers to be served, to the cost of materials or labor. Modify operating assumptions or goals. Then hit the button. You'll be able to watch the optimization process as it progresses -- and you can stop the engine at any time to examine the best solution found so far.
Controlled constraint relaxation
ILOG ODM automatically relaxes over-constrained problems during runtime. ILOG CPLEX applies a set of priorities, carefully relaxing the fewest number of constraints. A solution is always displayed, along with violated constraints. Results are shown in business terms that users can understand. Users can easily change constraint priorities to explore tradeoffs between solutions.
Multicriteria objectives and goal programming
Business objectives often conflict. ILOG ODM allows users to modify goal weights themselves. Users can also set limits on individual goals. The results are precise, informed tradeoffs.
Scenario management
ILOG ODM features persistent storage with editing for input data, business rules, goals and solutions. Data tables provide local storage for external data, so it can be modified without changing data sources. Scenarios can be created, copied, modified and compared out of the box.
Excel and database integration
Map relational tables to external data sources without extra coding. ILOG ODM’s tables can be easily mapped to sources like flat files, Excel spreadsheets and relational databases. ODM can also be configured to filter, modify and refresh tables on demand. Cut-and-paste support makes importing and exporting data to other applications easy. Export formatted data to Excel on-the-fly as a starting point for reports.
